I wouldn't read too much into that.  At some point in the (distant)
future we may decide that pvops doesn't have enough users to justify
supporting it any more and pull it out, like any other kernel feature
(or perhaps more specifically, nobody's interested in maintaining it any
more).  But we're a long way from there.  After all, people are still
actively maintaining 80386 support...
