At the last posting by Simon, those patches were marked `rfc'.  That
is, Request for Comments.  So we haven't applied them.  Also, there
weren't any comments on the last round (about a week ago).

Simon (and everyone else): will there be (or should there be) a
revised final version ?  Or does silence mean assent and everyone is
happy to see them applied as-is ?  Most of the changes are to xend
which we're quite lax about so there's no reason from our end for us
to wait I think.
