OK, if it's OFED 1.2 then you have a pretty recent mthca driver.
See what happens if you comment out the line

                dev->mthca_flags |= MTHCA_FLAG_FMR;

in mthca_mr.c.  (It's in an if/else statement so obviously you have to
get rid of the line in a way that leaves the driver compiling etc...)

That should make the driver stop writing directly into the memory
translation table.
