Thread-topic: [Xen-devel] XP: VBD could not connect to backend device:USB boot
Thanks guys.

But no luck. I did try removing both 'ioemu' and '

Error: Device (769) could not be connected. Backend devices not found.

Still is the problem.

I have attached Xen start-up log, xm file along with this email...

My kernel is 2.6.16-33, Xen-3.0.3/3.0.4.. If that helps..

Note, I am booting from a USB/LILO combo and not from the hard-disk...

I do have enough loop devices, compiled into the kernel..

boot

Well, as Mats said, it would seem that some fundamental setup is
breaking
somewhere. Gosh, that does sound a bit vague of me, sorry!

I take it you've checked the disk images (e.g. /root/xenimages/hd.img)
are
mounted at the correct positions. You don't need the ioemu: syntax
anymore,
so try removing that.

Finally, you could try removing the CDROM argument to simplify the
setup,
although this shouldn't make a difference! (I don't believe the problem
is
with the CD-ROM itself - the error suggests hda can't connect).

I'm sorry I don't have anything more specific to suggest right now - but
it
looks like it ought to be fixable, anyhow. Hopefully we can figure it
out
together.

Cheers,
mark

Dave: Just a question. What use is a unicyle with no seat? And no
pedals!
Mark: To answer a question with a question: What use is a skateboard?
Dave: Skateboards have wheels.
Mark: My wheel has a wheel!
