Thread-topic: HVM/VMX issues on some gcc version?
We have checked three source versions 8767:0defafc42af4, 8781:dcc2beb8a1d2,
8793:974ed9f73641.

The VMX/HVM (IA-32 UP mode) of changset 8767/8781 often can not be created if
it was builded by gcc 3.4.2/Fedora Core 3 or gcc 4.0.1/FC4. But it works well
if it was builded by gcc 3.4.3/RHEL4u1 or gcc 3.4.4/RHEL4u2.
The VMX/HVM guest often hangs for many different error, serial port often show
us :
---------------------

(XEN) (GUEST: 20) FATAL: Not a bootable disk

even it can be created successful. serial port also has lots of complian:

(XEN) (GUEST: 14) int13_harddisk: function 41, unmapped device for ELDL=81
(XEN) HVM_PIT: guest freq in cycles=37931173
--------------------------

But VMX/HVM guest (IA-32 UP mode) of changset 8793 works now, while the gcc
versin is still 3.4.2/Fedora Core 3.

So some code depends on the gcc version?

Thanks and best regards
Alex shi
