Finally got some time to drive 3.0 and have a bridge performance issue,
in troubleshooting  I find that ethtool is no longer working for my
Intel gig card.

Intel Corporation 82540EM Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 02)


Under Centos 4.2 with 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL ethtool does work fine for this
card.
