Little bandwidth == one 'sticky bit' of information that is cleared by the receiver. It's an event pending bit.

High performance == when you send an event, teh receiver will receive an upcall sometime later. The mechanisms involved are simple so the CPU overhead is dominated by context switch time, if a context switch is required.
