This approach would enable running Win4Lin. My idea would be, instead,
to replace Win4Lin entirely. Of course it may be somewhat unfair to the
Win4Lin folks, but OTOH, it could become the ground for providing
enhanced capabilities (like MIDI).

As for a minimal DOS, well there's FreeDOS. (I'm not sure if people have
managed to start w98 over FreeDOS).
