[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1386] New: can't acquire more than 8 CPUs in a VM
http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1386
Summary: can't acquire more than 8 CPUs in a VM
Product: Xen
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux-2.6
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: P1
Component: Hardware Support
AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: patti.sheaffer@xxxxxxxx
I specify 16CPUs in the Machine Details dialog box and boot the VM, but the
Guest OS only captures 8 (or less if I set less) CPUs. The guest OS is Windows
2003 Server Enterprise Edition which I have verified will support at least
16CPUs when booted as the host OS on my current system or my TYAN S4881/B4881
16CPU system.
My current system is OpenSuSE11.0 x86_64 on a TYAN S4985/B4985 system which has
8 each quad-core Opteron 8000 processors and 64BG memory. The version of Xen
listed in YaST is 3.2.1_16881
