qemu-dm does a bunch of argument sanity checking in vl.c to see if the device
files exist and such.  Instead of just fork/exec()'ing qemu-dm, we ought to
treat it like a daemon and use a trick like polling for stdout closing to let
qemu-dm get beyond the argument validation before actually returning on domain
creation.
